Michael Joe Jackson was born on August 29, 1958 in Gary, Indiana to Joe and Katherine Jackson.

After massive success as part of The Jacksons, Michael signed a solo deal with Motown Records in 1971. His debut, "Got to Be There" and sophomore album, "Ben" were both released the following year and were moderate successes. His third album, "Music & Me" was released in 1973, and his fourth album, "Forever, Michael" was released in 1975 shortly before he left the label. He signed a solo contract with Epic Records in 1978, and released his fifth album, "Off the Wall" the following year, which gave him his first taste of what was to come.

His sixth album, "Thriller" was released in 1982, and gave him numerous of hits, awards, and records. Due to its success, he did not release his seventh album, "Bad" until 1987, and the album was a huge success even though it didn't match his previous album.

His eighth album, "Dangerous" was released in 1991, and by that point he had been crowned, "King of Pop" and was one of the hugest selling artists in history. In May 1994, he married Lisa Marie Presley, and the following year he released his ninth album, "HIStory: The Past, Present and Future, Book I", his first album not to go near expectations in terms of sales. He and Presley divorced in 1996, and later that year he married Debbie Rowe. They had two children, Michael Joseph "Prince" Jackson Jr. in 1997, and Paris-Michael Katherine "Paris" Jackson in 1998. He and Rowe divorced in 2000.

His tenth album, "Invincible" was released in 2001, and was a commercial failure due to lack of promotion. He had a son with a surrogate mother, named Prince Michael "Blanket" Jackson II in 2002. In 2003, he was moved from Epic Records to Legacy Recordings. Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009 in Los Angeles, California.
